The items listed in the wish list above are generally accepted in small quantities but please call (570) 622-3991 before bringing items to donate to find out if what you have in mind is something SWiC can use or has space for at the time.

Donations are accepted Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM or by appointment. Please call the day you are interested in making the donation for directions.

How do non-monetary donations work, and how are they used?

SWiC’s Shelter Coordinator and Property Manager oversee all non-monetary donations.

SWiC greatly appreciates donations of items, but due to fire code, limited storage space, concerns regarding the spread of bedbugs, and the exorbitant amount of donations received, furniture and computers will be accepted at the discretion of the Property Manager. If you are interested in donating large items please call (570) 622-3991 and ask to speak with the Property Manager, if he is not available at that time, please opt to leave him a voicemail with your information and he will get back to you as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, SWiC does not accept used large appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, washers, and televisions, however, SWiC will take the name and phone number of those interested in donating such items and post their availability for interested service recipients.

Approved items will either be used immediately by or stored for use by residents and/or those receiving SWiC services.

Donations are available to shelter residents Monday-Friday 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, to SWiC Housing residents on Friday after 7:00 PM, to service recipients by appointment, or otherwise directed by the shelter worker on duty. *Please note any new residents coming into shelter before or after scheduled times will have access to donations as soon as they need.

When the storage area for donations is filled, SWiC is unable to accept additional items.

Drives of NEW items collected by others on behalf of SWiC will be accepted.
