Schuylkill Women in Crisis
in many ways

Do you have a few hours a month
to improve the lives of women and children
in your community?

Do you have a special talent to share?
Cooking, Crafts, Yoga, Music - just to name a few...

Are you bilingual?


Training is not required for all
volunteer opportunities:

  • Shelter Maintenance
  • Homework Helper
  • Donation Room Volunteer
  • Clerical Volunteer
  • Newsletter Writer
  • Properties Maintenance
  • Reading at Storytime


Tasks that require training:

  • Answer Hotline Calls
  • Emergency Shelter Volunteer
  • Assist victims in completing Protection from Abuse Orders
  • Provide information and referrals
  • and more...


Spring 2012 Volunteer Training

SWiC is seeking caring, sensitive individuals who are interested in volunteering their time to assist victims of domestic violence and their children. Volunteers must complete a 40-hour training program held two nights a week for six weeks in Pottsville.
